With a career that started at Eversheds Sutherland (US) in 1979, Edward has accumulated knowledge that benefits clients in corporate transactions. 

These transactions include mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and private capital. He has extensive experience working on business transactions in the beverage/alcohol industry. Ed represents a variety of clients in industries ranging from wholesale and distribution to biotechnology, manufacturing and finance in acquisitions and joint venture arrangements. He has worked with companies from several foreign countries, including firms in Mexico, China, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Ireland, Russia, Thailand and Sweden. In addition to transactions, these matters include arrangements to jointly manufacture in the United States and abroad, forming strategic partnerships and operating nonmanufacturing establishments abroad.

Ed works regularly with private investment clients in Eversheds Sutherland (US)'s Private Equity practice and offers counsel on key Hart-Scott-Rodino issues for the firm’s Timber & Forest Products practice. He serves as outside general counsel for a number of clients in different industries, counseling on governance and strategic matters. 

  • Represented a global snack food company in connection with its acquisition of four North Carolina-based snack food companies.
  • Represented Signal Outdoor Advertising, a leading provider of "out of home" advertising in more than 100 US markets, in its acquisition of Adcamp, Inc., a national leader in outdoor advertising on college campuses.
  • Represented an international agricultural firm in its formation of a joint venture with a US partner to develop and operate a 16,000-acre farm in northwest Arizona.
  • Represented BMC East in its acquisition of Code Plus Components, a leading structural component provider.
  • Represented BMC West in its acquisition of Texas Plywood and Lumber Company, a leading manufacturer of millwork, doors and related structural components.
  • Represented a global food and beverage company in the $75 million acquisition of a healthy snack foods company.
  • Represented a global food and beverage company in the $75 million acquisition of a healthy snack foods company.
  • Represented Arca Continental SAB de CV in connection with two acquisition transactions.
  • Represented Gypsum Management and Supply, Inc. in numerous transactions.
