Kristin H. Burns

Kristin represents public and private entities, including business development companies, in their corporate and transactional matters. 

Kristin represents clients in all stages of their life-cycle from formation and launch through on-going market operations and follow-on capital raising. She regularly guides clients with respect to capital raising activities through public and private offerings of debt and equity. She also frequently advises on corporate governance matters including compliance with the Securities Act of 1933, the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Investment Advisers Act of 1940.

Kristin has significant experience drafting and negotiating documents for private investment funds and working with institutional investors such as pension and government funds.

Before joining Eversheds Sutherland, Kristin practiced in the corporate and securities department of a law firm and served as in-house counsel to an alternative investment manager.
