Sutherland Partner Clifford E. Kirsch is the Planning Chair for the American Law Institute–American Bar Association (ALI-ABA) course on Investment Adviser Regulation, January 15-16, 2009, at the Fordham University School of Law in New York City. Cliff is also presenting on several topics, including: "The State Regulatory Agenda for Advisers; State Issues for SEC-Registered Advisers," "The SEC’s Regulatory Agenda for Advisers," "Broker-Dealer Advisory Services; Financial Planning," and "A Peek at the Future: Practical Implications from the Credit Crisis."
Additionally, Partners Michael B. Koffler and W. Mark Smith are Faculty for the course. Michael is presenting "Advertising and Marketing" and will participate in a Compliance Roundtable, and Mark is presenting "Adviser Issues in the Institutional and Retirement Marketplace."
This annual course provides an opportunity for investment advisers and their counsel to get up to speed on all of the regulatory issues (Advisers Act, ERISA and state securities regulations) that affect their businesses. The course brings together all of the regulatory areas of concern and presents them in a comprehensive, integrated, two-day program.
