Defended a public company and several of its officers in an SEC inquiry, which expanded to include several U.S. attorneys’ offices and a number of other regulatory agencies.

Description
Represented a public company and several of its officers, in what began as an SEC inquiry but developed into a hydra-like investigation involving not only the SEC but also several U.S. attorneys’ offices and a number of other regulatory agencies. The stakes were large and there were outside forces pushing the regulators to adopt ill-conceived notions about the company and its officers. We dealt with multiple, massive, time-sensitive requests for information, the executives whose careers were at stake, the multiple complex legal and factual issues and litigation as well as public relations issues involved. After several years, we were able to educate the regulators, and the company and the individuals successfully navigated the regulatory morass.
