In its weekly report to subscribers, NATS looks at the first six months of US LNG activity and puts it into perspective for the rest of the year. NATS reports that domestic LNG usage has set a new record during the first six months of the year, driven largely by imports at the Trunkline terminal in Lake Charles, La. Also, the new Cypress Pipeline system connecting the Elba Island terminal in Georgia to the Florida market encouraged greater LNG imports. NATS expects that American terminals will remain the destination of choice for LNG shippers until winter when European prices will rise due to cold weather. [Subscription required]
