A study prepared by the Alaska Department of Natural Resources concluded that more than 1.14 Tcf of natural gas remains in the Cook Inlet. One official with the Department said that there are sufficient reserves to keep the Kenai LNG liquefaction facility operating, but that the state would likely seek a commitment from the Kenai LNG facility’s owners, ConocoPhillips and Marathon Oil, to explore for additional gas supplies to replace the reserves those companies are exporting.
