NorthCoastOregon.com suggests the Columbia Riverkeeper may have violated Internal Revenue Service rules governing nonprofit organizations by campaigning in the recall election of a commissioner in Clatsop County, Ore. The piece reports that a number of e-mails obtained by the newspaper provide evidence that Columbia Riverkeeper played a direct role in the recall campaign despite statements by the group’s leadership to the contrary.
