Noting concerns with language  that was critical of U.S. Coast Guard efforts to secure LNG vessels during transit, the members of the Jamestown Town Council rejected two drafts of resolutions opposing the Weaver’s Cove LNG terminal. The Jamestown Press (R.I.) reports that the Council also is considering whether to seek intervenor status in the Weaver’s Cove LNG FERC proceeding.

Separately, the Jamestown Press reports that two Rhode Island state representatives, State Rep. Deb Ruggeiro and State Sen. Teresa Paiva-Weed, expressed their opposition to the proposed Weaver's Cove LNG project.
