Last week, Excelerate Energy announced its plans to decommission its Gulf Gateway LNG deepwater port. Excelerate CEO Rob Bryngelson said in a press statement that North American market conditions and Excelerate's focus on other LNG markets around the world “reduced the need for Gulf Gateway and confirmed that its retirement is the most financially prudent course of action” for the company.
