Hartnig discussed the government’s new proposal to require disclosure of uncertain tax positions, stating "the uncertain tax positions proposal raises a host of issues in the international area."Richard said foreign companies filing Form 1120F 'may have a very small U.S. affiliate' and may have to look to foreign assets to see if they are affected by the proposal, which requires disclosure by taxpayers that have recorded reserves for uncertain positions."
