Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP Adds Four Attorneys to Renowned Real Estate Practice

ATLANTA (September 26, 2005) – Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP today announced the addition of four new attorneys to its real estate practice.

Susan Neuberg, who will be joining the Washington DC office as counsel, has extensive experience structuring, negotiating and documenting investment debt and equity transactions for institutional investors.  Susan has closed in excess of 15 mezzanine fee and leasehold transactions secured by retail, office and hotel properties located throughout the United States.  She has substantial experience in the restructuring liquidating and servicing of non-performing assets, including workouts and bankruptcy involving CMBS products.  Prior to joining Sutherland, Susan was Deputy General Counsel with Citigroup and served as an Adjunct Lecturer of Law at the University of Connecticut's School of Law and as an Adjunct Assistant Professor New York University's Real Estate Institute.

Bruce Cunningham will join the firm as counsel in Sutherland's Atlanta office.  Bruce has extensive experience in many commercial real estate practice areas, on behalf of owners, leasing and management agents, lessors, lessees, commercial mortgage lenders, and many others for whom he has handled a wide range of commercial real estate activities.  His activities have included acquisitions and sales, leasing and property management, portfolio management, construction and permanent financing, mortgage conduit lending and various aspects of post-securitized loan servicing for commercial mortgage-backed securities trusts and their master and special servicers.  Prior to joining the firm, Bruce was associated with counsel to and partner in law firms with expertise in commercial real estate, and served as counsel in corporate legal departments of companies involved in real estate development and management activities.

Roy Ruda will work alongside Bruce as an associate in Atlanta.  Prior to joining the firm, Roy was an associate with a firm in New Jersey, where he focused primarily on lease drafting, negotiating and the purchase of several diverse properties.

Nicole Sidman will join the New York office as an Associate.  Her expertise is primarily focused on areas of real estate finance and securitization, representing servicers of CMBS loans in transactions involving all types of post-closing transactions and defeasances.  Nicole has represented institutional lenders in origination of loans secured by retail shopping centers, manufacturing facilities, residential developments, and in the financing of low income housing credits.
