Sutherland Elects Three New Counsel

ATLANTA and WASHINGTON (May 6, 2008) – Sutherland announces the election of three new counsel effective May 1, 2008.

"Each of these lawyers has made significant contributions to the firm and to the work for our clients, and we look forward to their continued success with Sutherland," said Managing Partner Mark D. Wasserman.

The following attorney in the firm's Atlanta office has been elected counsel:

Jennifer N. Ide is a member of the Litigation Practice Group and her practice encompasses a broad range of civil litigation, with a particular focus on energy litigation, tax controversies and complex commercial matters.

The following two attorneys in the firm's Washington office have been elected counsel:

Christopher L.  "Chris" May is a member of the Intellectual Property Practice Group, focusing his practice in the areas of chemical and pharmaceutical litigation and advisory work.  He holds a Master of Science in Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is an adjunct professor at Michigan State University.

Michael C. Pawluk is a member of the Financial Services Practice Group and focuses his practice in the area of asset management and financial services, advising registered and unregistered investment companies, investment advisers and insurance companies on issues arising under the federal and state securities laws.
