ATLANTA (January 18, 2001) – In a move that emphasizes Sutherland Asbill & Brennan's commitment to expanding its full-service legal capabilities, the firm announced today the expansion of its Technology and Real Estate Practices with the addition of five new partners in its Atlanta office. Joining Sutherland as partners are Lisa S. Burnett, Philip P. Gura, Philip H. Moïse, Peter C. Quittmeyer and Wade H. Stribling. Gura, Moïse, Quittmeyer and Stribling will practice in the technology and corporate area and Burnett will join the firm's real estate practice. The lawyers join Sutherland from Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough, LLP.
With this group's arrival, Sutherland's technology practice will have more than 45 attorneys who focus on technology-related activities including mergers and acquisitions and securities offerings; technology outsourcing, licensing, distribution and procurement; venture capital transactions; and licensing and intellectual property matters.
In addition, Lisa Burnett will expand the firm's real estate practice with her capabilities in the areas of hotels & resorts.

Lisa Burnett has more than 12 years of experience in the commercial real estate area with an emphasis on hospitality, lending, leasing and finance. She is a graduate of Emory University School of Law and a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the American and Atlanta Bar Associations.
Philip Gura has practiced corporate law for more than 16 years. He has extensive experience with mergers and acquisitions, secured transactions and corporate governance. He is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center and a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the American and Atlanta Bar Associations.
Philip Moïse has practiced law in Atlanta for more than 22 years. His practice focuses on corporate finance including public and private financings, mergers and acquisitions, licensing and distribution and technology law. He received his law degree from Duke University School of Law and is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the American Electronics Association and the Technology Association of Georgia.
Peter Quittmeyer has practiced law for 18 years and has extensive experience representing technology-related companies. His areas of expertise are technology transactions, including outsourcing, licensing and procurement and intellectual property matters. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia Law School and has served as an adjunct professor of law at Emory Law School where he taught computer law. Quittmeyer is also the author of Computer Software Agreements: Forms and Commentary,which was published by West Group and is one of West's top publications in the area of intellectual property.
Wade Stribling has practiced in the corporate and real estate areas for more than 15 years. His practice focuses on venture capital financings and technology law. He has been involved in a number of publicly registered securities offerings and also has experience with the 1934 Exchange Act. He is a graduate of Emory University School of Law and a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the American and Atlanta Bar Associations and the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts.
