ATLANTA (June 24, 2003) – Sutherland Asbill & Brennan took a lead role serving as Presenting Sponsor for the annual Hands On Atlanta's ServiceJuris Day, which took place on Saturday, June 21, 2003. 550 members of the legal community joined forces to renovate Kimberly Elementary School in South Atlanta. Bert Adams, an associate in Sutherland's Corporate Group, co-chaired the annual event and Sutherland partnered with client Home Depot in completing two projects at the school.
More than 50 Sutherland attorneys, summer associates, staff and their families worked on two projects at Kimberly Elementary School. The combined Sutherland and Home Depot team of approximately 60 volunteers constructed two outdoor classrooms and painted two portable classrooms for the school.
"Sutherland was thrilled to once again partner with Hands On Atlanta as the Presenting Sponsor of the Fourth Annual ServiceJuris Day," said Bert, "and we look forward to continuing to help this event grow and develop in the coming years. In its ability to bring all members of the legal community together in a combined day of community service, it is a truly remarkable event."
ServiceJuris Day is a day of service specifically created for the legal community. The annual event is open to the entire Atlanta legal community - lawyers, judges, summer associates, legal administrators, support staff, legal associations and family members and friends.
