ATLANTA (May 15, 2003) – Sutherland litigation partner William D. Barwick will serve as president of the State Bar of Georgia for a one-year term beginning June 2003.
Mr. Barwick served as State Bar Secretary from 2000 through 2002 and President-Elect from 2002 through 2003. He previously served as president of the Atlanta Bar Association from 1992 through 1993. He has been involved in bar activities at every level. In addition to holding officer positions with the State Bar of Georgia and the Atlanta Bar Association, he has served on both the State Bar Disciplinary Board and the Judicial Nominating Commission. He was also elected president of the Younger Lawyers Division of the State Bar in 1984.
Mr. Barwick concentrates his practice in the areas of product liability, telecommunications, insurance coverage and commercial litigation.
