David studied law at the University of Sussex, qualified as a solicitor in 2003 and joined Eversheds Sutherland (US) in 2011. David’s practice is focused on the commodities markets, in particular oil and metals, and encompasses dispute resolution, regulatory and transactional work. David is identified as leading individual for physical commodities in the Legal 500 (London) 2014.
David acts for leading traders, shipowners and P&I Clubs in relation to:
Commodity sale and storage contracts
Contracts for the carriage of goods (charterparties, bills of lading and COAs)
Compliance and regulatory issues (EMIR, market abuse, bribery laws etc.)
Cross jurisdiction enforcement, asset-tracing and seizure
Related joint ventures and transactions
