Deepa Menon counsels businesses in the complex areas of employment, worker privacy, privacy and data protection and technology product issues.

Deepa routinely advises clients regarding all aspects of federal, state, and local employment laws and privacy laws. Deepa also counsels clients regarding employment and privacy/cybersecurity issues related to mergers, acquisitions and other business transactions. Further, Deepa provides in-depth technology product counseling advice to large technology companies.

Deepa’s clients range from small domestic clients to large multi-jurisdictional entities. Deepa has deep proficiency in cross-border arrangements, privacy and cybersecurity matters, workplace privacy, disability laws, compliance with employee verification under export controls, workplace policies, employee monitoring, IT security policies, design of workplace confidentiality protocol to assess compliance with federal and state laws, return to work considerations, furlough and layoff matters, employment data analytics, conciliation of multi-national employer processes with privacy restrictions (including the GDPR), federal and state privacy laws, proprietary information and intellectual property protections, federal and state OSHA compliance, record-keeping matters, employment agreements, hiring and termination practices, discrimination charges, severance agreements, Fair Labor Standards Act classification, I-9 and e-Verify compliance, EEO-1 and VETS-4212 reports, Uniform Testing Guidelines, employee accommodations, executive compensation, and federal and state government contractor compliance.

  • Represented IGM Financial, one of Canada's largest diversified wealth and asset management companies, in its purchase of an approximately 20.5 percent equity interest in Rockefeller Capital Management, for consideration of approximately $622 million.
  • Represented Acacium Group, a portfolio company of Onex Partners, in its acquisition of R&D Partners, a staffing company.
  • Eversheds Sutherland advised T.Y. Lin International in connection with its acquisition of Greeley and Hansen, a leader in developing innovative engineering solutions for a wide array of water, wastewater, water reuse and solid waste challenges.
  • Advised GEODIS, a world leader in transport and logistics headquartered in France, on entering into an agreement to acquire the US-based logistics company Need It Now Delivers.
  • Represented G&L Holdings, Inc. in the sale of all issued and outstanding equity of Grain Craft, the largest US-based independent flour miller.
  • Represented ITC Infotech in its strategic partnership with PTC, Inc. pursuant to which ITC Infotech purchased the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) business from PTC and acquired a portion of PTC’s PLM implementation services business, DxP services.
  • Represented Essentra plc and its subsidiaries in connection with their acquisition of all of the outstanding stock of Innovative Components Inc. and its Costa Rican affiliate, Componentes Innovadores Limitada.
  • Advising a Fortune 50 publicly traded technology company on breach response in over 24 global jurisdictions, including 50 US states, Puerto Rico, the UK and the EU, as well as proactively advising on privacy for the development of advanced new products.
  • Represented EC English in the acquisition by Study Group USA Inc. of 100% of the issued and outstanding capital stock of EC Higher Education, Inc.
  • Represented a global provider of essential components and solutions and its subsidiaries in their acquisition of all the outstanding stock of a manufacturing company and its Costa Rican affiliate.
  • Advised T5 Data Centers on its agreement with QuadReal Property Group to launch a platform for the acquisition, development and operation of data centers for enterprise and hyperscale users.
  • Represented SSM Partners in its acquisition of Kukui Corporation.
