As a highly skilled commercial litigator, Jason McCarter represents major automotive, technology and other enterprises in complex business disputes and regulatory investigations. A member of Eversheds Sutherland (US)'s Litigation Practice Group, Jason is often called upon, both for counseling and for advocacy, by clients facing lending, Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), privacy, licensing, business tort and contract-related issues.
Jason’s practice takes him to state and federal courts and alternative dispute resolution forums around the country. He recently prevailed, for example, in a multi-million dollar contract and earn-out lawsuit involving a nationwide motor vehicle sales platform; won an appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit in a nine-figure system-network contract and antitrust dispute for a major cable company and obtained a $15 million judgment, along with recovery of the stolen intellectual property, in a web-based trade secrets dispute.
Jason is a frequent speaker and writer on finance and consumer protection matters overseen by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and other regulatory bodies.
