Joel Hughey is a member of our Corporate Transactions Team. Joel’s practice is concentrated in the areas of corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions. He regularly advises Boards of Directors and Committees of Boards in their consideration of extraordinary corporate transactions. Joel has also advised CEO’s and executive teams in connection with their company’s entry into material corporate transactions, including going-private situations. In the areas of corporate governance, public and private securities offerings and mergers and acquisitions, Joel has represented over 100 public and private company clients in a variety of industries including technology, IT security, telecommunications, healthcare, manufacturing, distribution and chemicals. Joel has represented over 25 public companies and leading investment banks in over 50 public equity and debt securities offerings and has been involved in more than 50 public, private equity-backed and private company mergers, acquisitions, dispositions and strategically important joint ventures with consideration in excess of $30 billion. A substantial number of these transactions were cross-border or wholly international.
With almost 25 years combined experience as outside and in house counsel and as a corporate development executive, Joel brings a practical approach to executing transactions, addressing legal challenges and solving corporate governance issues.
