Josh Borden represents insurance companies on regulatory, reinsurance, general corporate and transactional matters.  He advises on mergers and acquisitions, transfers of blocks of insurance business, restructurings of insurance holding company systems and the creation of captive insurance company programs.   His practice focuses on compliance with state insurance regulations, and he regularly provides counsel with respect to licensing requirements, filings under the state insurance holding company acts, credit for reinsurance and investment limitations.  Josh also assists clients with legislation, examinations and investigations.

Prior to joining Eversheds Sutherland (US), Josh was an associate with a large, international law firm in New York, focusing on insurance regulatory matters.  Josh also previously served as a Special Assistant District Attorney at the Kings County District Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn, New York.
