With more than 15 years of experience, Lamine Hardaway advises clients on international trade issues and matters related to US sanctions, export controls, import and other national security and foreign policy trade-related regulations.
Lamine has extensive experience advising clients on compliance, investigations and voluntary disclosure of potential violations in connection with the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), the US Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC), and US Customs and Border Protection (CBP). He counsels multinational clients on comprehensive global sanctions compliance programs and risk assessments.
He also has deep experience in white collar investigations, anti-money-laundering requirements, compliance and prevention and is a Certified Anti-Money-Laundering Specialist (CAMS).
Prior to joining Eversheds Sutherland, Lamine worked in the international trade and white collar practices of major international law firms. Between his times in private practice, he was the Vice President of Global Sanctions Investigations at a major global bank and held several positions in the US government, including his work as an attorney-advisor in the Office of Chief Counsel and as a sanctions investigator in the Office of Global Targeting, both at the Department of Treasury's Office of Foreign Asset Control. Prior to this, he worked as an analyst at the US Department of State.
