Robert Jones is a member of Eversheds Sutherland (US)'s Technology, Outsourcing and Procurement Team. He has more than 20 years of experience in corporate and technology transactions. His practice focuses on transactional matters including technology licensing (from both the customer and the vendor sides), offshore and onshore outsourcing (such as business process outsourcing (BPO), and application development and maintenance (AD/M)), consulting and professional services, and software systems acquisition, integration and implementation. He provides advice to clients regarding service level agreements, data security/privacy, software-as-a-service (SaaS) and cloud-computing services.
He has broad experience in the software, retail, travel, logistics, hospitality, transportation, consumer products, electronics, payment card, satellite, cable and online services industries. Before joining Eversheds Sutherland (US), Robert served as transactional counsel and manager for Accenture, a multi-billion dollar global management consulting, technology and outsourcing company, where he structured, reviewed and negotiated all aspects of outsourcing agreements, management consulting agreements, and technology licensing agreements. Prior to joining Accenture, Robert served as Senior Counsel for a software and consulting company, BackOffice Associates, where he was responsible for all legal matters for the company worldwide. Prior to joining BackOffice Associates, Robert served as Senior Counsel for Micro Focus, a UK-based software company focusing on application modernization and software development, where Robert was responsible for legal matters for the company in North America and where he helped the UK legal team take the company public on the London Stock Exchange in 2005.
